Lent day 10 reflection – 26 Feb 2021

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,

Today we look at the Bible in the book of Ezekiel chapter 18 verse 21 , where Gods word says,

‘If the wicked, however, renounces all the sins he has committed, respects my laws and is law-abiding and upright, he will most certainly live; he will not die.

God gives us a four steps to bring God’s life into us:

First we have to renounce the sin we have committed which means give it up fully. No turning back. The end result of giving up sin fully, is to confess the sin to God.

Second we need to respect God’s law, which means make a decision to follow God’s law in everything. Read it everyday, and make a firm decision everyday to follow God through his word.

Third we need to be Law- abiding which means implement God’s law through our actions.

And Fourth be upright. This is possible as we decide to use Gods grace in our daily lives. Otherwise being upright has many many interpretations and most of them are not right. Most of them are only worldly interpretations.

Now the good news is we have tried all of this but we have spectacularly failed all these years. It time to allow Jesus to walk with us. It literally means consult him in everything.

Then he will give us grace to renounce sin by experiencing his love, respect for God’s law will come because the Holy Spirit will help us, maturity will come because the Holy Spirit will transform us and we will be upright because we now have the righteousness that comes by faith in Jesus.

That’s the best news ever. Invite Jesus in and lets start on this adventure called Life in Jesus.

Have a blessed and Jesus-filled day
