Lent day 14 reflection – 02 March 2021

by Donn D’souza

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,

We’re looking at the Transfiguration one more time today. Here God the Father says a few things about his son.

He says, this is my son, whom I love, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him. – Mark 9:7

It amazes me that God, when he looked at his son, was pleased with him. Jesus had no money, no career whatsoever, no house, no influential friends. His life seemed nomadic at best.

God loves us all. He calls us all his sons and daughters because of the sacrifice of the Cross. But what what was God the Father pleased about Jesus?

It was because the Son – Jesus did only what the Father wanted. In this world of a thousand choices the question before us is, are we willing to be like Jesus and go only after the Father’s will?

If we are willing to do his will, then God is waiting to open himself to us in a way we have never experienced before.

He’s just waiting for a Yes from us. Can we give God’s will a resounding Yes today? Can we wait on God in prayer for everything we need?

Have a blessed and Jesus-filled day.
