Lent day 6 reflection – 22 Feb 2021

by Donn D’souza

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,

I want to reflect with you from the book of Isaiah

10 And as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and return no more thither, but soak the earth, and water it, and make it to spring, and give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be, which shall go forth from my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall do whatsoever I please, and shall prosper in the things for which I sent it. –Isaiah 55: 10-11

Now the Word of God also says we are made from God’s word, we are made from imperishable seed. That’s our origin and that’s our beginning.

So when Jesus speaks a word for us or to us, at Mass, or through the Bible or any other way that he chooses, we must have faith that the word he has spoken for us will come to pass. Because his word, as the scripture says, will accomplish everything it needs to.

Since we are made of his word, we have to be confident that we will complete all the good work that he has sent us to do. We will complete good works for our families, friends, work place and finally but most importantly for the Kingdom of God.

I invite you to make a list of the top 5 things that are pending in your life. Write it down now. Even if it has been pending for years. Once you write it down, lay your hands over this list, and in faith repeat this prayer, Lord Jesus I believe that you are giving me and my family the grace to complete this work according to your will. I believe this although I don’t see the end, I believe you are working and you will complete the good work. Amen!

Have a blessed Jesus-filled day
