Prayers for Protection

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Our Father:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Hail Mary (3 times)

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be:

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Memorare:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen

Saint Michael’s prayer:

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of battle. Be our safeguard and refuge against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan, and all evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

The Zechariah Prayer

Lord, I place us inside the cylindrical wall of fire. We cast out any evil spirit from within this cylinder. Deafen the ears of all evil, blind the eyes of all evil, dumb the mouth of all evil. We cancel and reject all works of evil from and against this cylinder. We seal the top and the bottom of this cylinder with your seal of the Precious Blood. Fill this cylinder with the Holy Spirit and your anointing, healing, and deliverance.

In Zechariah 2:5, Lord, You Yourself said that You will be a protective  wall of fire around us. We claim this wall of fire around us to protect us from all evil and all his deceits and plans.
Amen.

Lorica of Saint Patrick

I arise today through a mighty strength,
the invocation of the Trinity,
through a belief in the Threeness,
through confession of the Oneness of the Creator of creation.

I arise today
through the strength of Christ’s birth and His baptism,
through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial,
through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension,
through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.

I arise today
through the strength of the love of cherubim,
in obedience of angels,
in service of archangels,
in the hope of resurrection to meet with reward.
In the prayers of patriarchs,
in preachings of the apostles,
in faiths of confessors,
in innocence of virgins,
in deeds of righteous men.

I arise today
through the strength of heaven,
light of the sun,
splendour of fire,
speed of lightning,
swiftness of the wind,
depth of the sea,
stability of the earth,
firmness of the rock.

I arise today
through God’s strength to pilot me;
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s way to lie before me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s hosts to save me,
from snares of the devil,
from temptations of vices,
from every one who desires me ill,
afar and anear,
alone or in a multitude.

I summon today all these powers between me and evil,
against every cruel merciless power that opposes my body and soul.
Against incantations of false prophets,
against black laws of pagandom,
against false laws of heretics,
against craft of idolatry,
against spells of evil men and women and smiths and wizards,
against every knowledge that corrupts man’s body and soul.

Christ shield me today
against poison, against burning,
against drowning, against wounding,
so that reward may come to me in abundance.
Christ with me, Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,
Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.

I arise today through a mighty strength,
the invocation of the Trinity,
through a belief in the Threeness,
through a confession of the Oneness of the Creator of creation.

Pope Leo’s Prayer: PRAYER FOR DELIVERANCE by POPE LEO XIII

In the Name of Jesus Christ, our God and Lord, strengthened by the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Michael the Archangel, of the Blessed Apostles, Peter and Paul, and all the Saints, and powerful in the holy authority of our ministry, we confidently undertake to repulse the attacks and deceits of the devil. God arises; His enemies are scattered and those who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so are they driven; as wax melts before the fire, so the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Leader: Behold the cross of the Lord, flee bands of enemies.
All: He has conquered; the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the offspring of David.

Leader: May your mercy, Lord, descend upon us.
All: As great as our hope in you.

Leader: Let us pray.
All: [Make the sign of the Cross at the sign ().]

We drive you from us, whoever you may be, every unclean spirit, all satanic powers, all infernal invaders, all wicked legions, assemblies and sects. In the Name and by the power of Our Lord Jesus Christ,  may you be snatched away and driven from the Church of God and from the souls made to the image and likeness of God and redeemed by the Precious Blood of the Divine Lamb.  Most cunning serpent, you shall no more dare to deceive the human race, persecute the Church, torment God’s elect and sift them as wheat.  The Most High God commands you.  He with whom, in your great insolence, you still claim to be equal, “He who wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 11:4). God the Father commands you. ✚ God the Son commands you.  God the Holy Spirit commands you.  Christ, God’s Word made flesh, commands you.  He who to save our race outdone through your envy, humbled Himself, becoming obedient even unto death” (Phil. 1:18); He who has built His Church on the firm rock and declared that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Her, because He will dwell with Her “all days even to the end of the world” (Mt. 28:20). The sacred Sign of the Cross commands you,  as does also the power of the mysteries of the Christian Faith.  The glorious Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, commands you.  She who by her humility and from the first moment of her Immaculate Conception crushed your proud head. The faith of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and of the other Apostles commands you.  The blood of the Martyrs and the pious intercession of all the Saints commands you. ✚ Thus, cursed dragon, and you, diabolical legions, we adjure you by the living God,  by the true God,  by the holy God,  by the God “who so loved the world that He gave up His only Son, that every soul believing in Him might not perish but have life everlasting” (Jn. 3, 16); stop deceiving human creatures and pouring out to them the poison of eternal damnation; stop harming the Church and hindering her liberty. Begone, Satan, inventor and master of all deceit, enemy of man’s salvation. Give place to Christ in whom you have found none of your works; give place to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church acquired by Christ at the price of His Blood. Stoop beneath the all-powerful Hand of God; tremble and flee when we invoke the Holy and awesome Name of Jesus, this name which causes hell to tremble, this Name to which the Virtues, Powers and Dominations of Heaven are humbly submissive, this Name which the Cherubim and Seraphim praise unceasingly repeating: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord, the God of Armies.

Leader: O Lord, hear our prayer.
All: And let our cry come unto you.

Leader: May the Lord be with you.
All: And with your Spirit.

Leader: Let us pray.
All: God of heaven, God of earth, God of Angels, God of Archangels, God of Patriarchs, God of Prophets, God of Apostles, God of Martyrs, God of Confessors, God of Virgins, God who has power to give life after death and rest after work: because there is no other God than You and there can be no other, for You are the Creator of all things, visible and invisible, of Whose reign there shall be no end. We humbly prostrate ourselves before Your glorious Majesty and we beseech You to deliver us by Your power from all the tyranny of the infernal spirits, from their snares, their lies and their furious wickedness. Deign, O Lord, to grant us Your powerful protection and to keep us safe and sound. We beseech You through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

Leader: From the snares of the devil.
All: Deliver us, O Lord.

Leader: That your Church may serve you in peace and liberty.
All: We beseech you to hear us.

Leader: That you may crush down all enemies of your Church.
All: We beseech you to hear us.

Prayer of St.Benedict:

The Cross of [our] Holy Father Benedict.
May the holy cross be my light!
May the dragon never be my overlord.
Let the devil not be my leader!
Begone satan! Get behind me satan.
Never tempt me with your vanities!
Don’t persuade me of wicked things.
What you offer me is evil. What you are showing me is bad.
Drink the poison yourself! Drink your poisons yourself.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O Good Jesus, hear me.
Within Your wounds hide me.
Permit me not to be separated from You.
From the malignant enemy, defend me.
At the hour of my death, call me and bid me come to You,
that with Your saints I may praise You for ever and ever.
Amen.

Litany of Humility

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being loved, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being extolled, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being honoured, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being praised, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being preferred to others, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being consulted, deliver me, Jesus.
From the desire of being approved, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being despised, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being calumniated, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being forgotten, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being ridiculed, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being wronged, deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being suspected, deliver me, Jesus.

That others may be loved more than I, Jesus grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I, Jesus grant me the grace to desire it.
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease, Jesus grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be chosen and I set aside, Jesus grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be praised and I unnoticed, Jesus grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be preferred to me in everything, Jesus grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

Psalm 23:

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
    for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of The Lord
    forever.

Psalm 91:

1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says theLord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honour him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

Psalm 121:

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Isaiah 54:15-17:

15 If any nation comes to fight you,
it is not because I sent them.
Whoever attacks you will go down in defeat.
16 “I have created the blacksmith
who fans the coals beneath the forge
and makes the weapons of destruction.
And I have created the armies that destroy.
17 But in that coming day
no weapon turned against you will succeed.
You will silence every voice
    raised up to accuse you.
These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me.
I, the Lord, have spoken!

Ephesians 6:10-18: The Armour of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Luke 10:19

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
